Venous Interventions
Using basic principles of angiography, a host of procedures from the simple to complex are offered regarding venous disease and access.
- IVC Filters
- Venoplasty and Stenting of Stenoses
- Central Venous Access
- PICC Lines
- Central Femoral and Internal Jugular Lines
- Chest Por
- AVM Embolization (ethanol)
Central Venous Access.
- Ultrasound guided technique allows safe and quick placement of central venous lines and chest ports.
- Quick and safe placement of PICC lines
Central Venous Disease
- Venography identifies central stenoses that may cause arm or facial swelling.
- Venoplasty and/or stenting opens areas of central narrowing.
- Thrombolysis is used to treat areas of significant narrowing that do not respond to venoplasty.
PE/DVT
- IVC Filter Placement
- Metal devices that trap clot that embolizes from the lower extremities, prevents PE.
- Pulmonary Angiography
- In rare cases of the inability to detect PE by CT or VQ scan, the gold standard of angiography is performed.
